Conheço um grande amolecedor, um sujeito que vê mole tudo o que vê, amolece as coisas só de vê-las, nem sequer de olhá-las porque ele vê mais do que olha, e então fica por aí vendo coisas e todas são tremendamente moles e ele está contente porque não gosta nada de coisas duras.
Houve um tempo em que talvez visse duro, quem sabe porque ainda era capaz de olhar, e quem olha vê duas vezes, vê o que está vendo e também é o que está vendo ou ao menos poderia ser ou gostaria de ser ou gostaria de não ser, todas elas maneiras extremamente filosóficas e existenciais de situar-se e de situar o mundo. Mas um dia esse sujeito, por volta dos vinte anos, começou a não olhar mais, porque na realidade tinha uma pele delicadinha e das últimas vezes em que quis olhar o mundo de frente a visão lhe fendeu a pele em dois ou três lugares e naturalmente meu amigo disse tchê, assim não dá, então certa manhã começou a só ver, cuidadosamente a nada mais que ver, e claro que desde então passou a ver mole tudo o que via, a amolecer as coisas só de vê-las, e estava contente porque não gostava de jeito nenhum das coisas duras.
Um professor de Bahia Blanca chamou isso de visão trivializante, e era uma expressão muito afortunada por ser de Bahia Blanca, mas meu amigo não apenas ficou feliz da vida como também quando viu o professor, como é natural, extremamente mole, e o convidou para tomar uns coquetéis em sua casa, apresentou-lhe sua irmã e sua tia e o encontro transcorreu num ambiente de grande moleza.
Eu me aflijo um pouco porque quando meu amigo me vê sinto que fico completamente mole e mesmo sabendo que não se trata de mim mas da minha imagem no meu amigo, como diria o professor de Bahia Blanca, de todo modo me aflijo porque ninguém gosta de ser visto como um pudim de sêmola e em consequência o convidem para ir ao cinema onde passam um filme de caubóis ou lhe falem durante durante duas ou três horas de como são bonitos os tapetes da embaixada de Madagascar.
O que fazer com o meu amigo? Nada, é claro. Em todo caso vê-lo mas nunca olhá-lo; como, pergunto, poderíamos olhá-lo sem a mais horrível ameaça de dissolução? Aquele que só vê deve ser visto; moral melancólica e prudente que chega, receio, além das leis da óptica.
