Antigamente, eu passava todos os dias pela Travessa dos Poetas de Calçada, no coração da Cinelândia. Nem imaginava que este era o nome daquela espécie de passarela que unia a avenida Treze de Maio e a rua Senador Dantas, os dois endereços onde meu trabalho me obrigava a ir diariamente. Minha base era a agência do banco da Treze de Maio e eu precisava ir diariamente à agência central, na Senador Dantas, a fim de levar documentos bancários.
Eram os anos 80 e eu era um adolescente. Dos 14 aos 18 anos, eu trabalhei na agência bancária na Cinelândia. Eu era boy. Fui batizado pelo Chico Lyra, sujeito querido por todos, com o apelido de boy George. Se ele era querido por todos, passou a ser querido por mim também. A agência onde trabalhávamos ficava embaixo da sede do Cordão do Bola Preta. Em época de carnaval, caímos no samba. Tinha cada figura ali naquela agência. E eu passei mais de 20 anos sem ver os cornos do pessoal.
Corta para o verão de 2012. Cinelândia. Palco do Municipal, palco de encenações na câmara dos vereadores, palco de tragédia. O ano de 2012 mal começou e já teve uma grande tragédia na Treze de Maio. Três prédios desabaram. Além dessa, outras tragédias no Brasil e no mundo marcaram o mês de janeiro, o transformando quase que num agosto, mês do desgosto. Atores despencam no teatro patrocinado por uma operadora de celular no Rio, navio afunda na Itália e comandante fica a ver navios, explosão na zona portuária, cantor Wando internado em estado grave em Minas. Ei 2011, pode voltar? 2012, pede pra sair?
Mas tudo bem. Não há de ser nada. Por conta da tragédia do desabamento dos prédios e pelos jornais, fico sabendo que até o século XVIII a Cinelândia era mangue e Lagoa. Foi aterrada e deu lugar mais tarde, no século XX, í s escavações das obras do Metrí, que ali inaugurou a estação Cinelândia. Nas tais escavações foram descobertos barcos e ossadas, além de outros objetivos desinteressantes, não dignos das lides dos jornais. Sem responsabilizar o aterramento da Cinelândia, especialista ouvido pela imprensa declarou que este pode não ter sido o motivo do desabamento, mas que pode ter influenciado. Segundo ele, o tal aterramento pode ter sido uma escolha errada em prol do progresso e da ocupação desordenada do espaço público e urbano feita pelo homem. Mas se a vida é feita de escolhas, vamos lá. Vale assumir o que escolhemos até aqui e reformular. O que importa é daqui pra frente.
Corta para março de 2012. Por conta do falecimento de um amigo daquelas épocas de banco, e com ajuda das redes sociais, a turma da turma da agência, como que movida por uma energia e um movimento de resgate ao passado, passou a se encontrar virtualmente. Do virtual, o encontro ganhou contornos de real. Nos encontramos no El Kuwait na mesma galeria que liga a Treze de Maio à Senador Dantas. Foi grande a emoção. Vinte de anos depois, estava de novo na Travessa dos Poetas da Calçada. E o mundo gira.
