Gostava da maneira como a poeta escrevia e do seu jeito de falar de coisas profundas de modo simples, com todas as rimas bem colocadas e dando sentido aos versos. Dona Esperança gostava particularmente de um poema da escritora que ensinava sempre a seus netos. Todos os seis aprendiam a declamar o poema ainda com cinco anos. Dona Esperança tinha netos com idades entre 18 e quatro anos. A mais nova ainda iria aprender o poema. E estava ansiosa. Era mais um motivo pra Dona Esperança. E “Motivo” era também o nome do poema.
Outro motivo era esperar que todos os netos reunidos, incluindo os que estavam de volta ao Brasil, declamassem uma vez mais o poema que ela ensinara. Dona Esperança recomendava a seus netos que saboreassem cada uma das palavras daquele poema, cada um dos versos, cada uma das rimas.
- “Eu canto por que o instante existe e minha vida está completa” era seu verso preferido. Foi este o verso que pautou a sua vida.
- Se o instante existe é o que me basta. ” sempre pensava. Ao verso, Dona Esperança sempre adicionava uma pitada de Carpe Diem ( aproveite seu dia) à sua filosofia de vida. Adorava comprar roupas e freqí¼entar a loja da Mariah como se não houvesse amanhã.
Justamente por que o instante existia é que ela sabia que um dia estaria muda e mais nada. Um belo dia 13 de dezembro, data do seu aniversário de 70 anos, ela, que estava deitada, se virou para o lado após ouvir seus netos em apresentação pré-natalina declamarem seu poema preferido, e não falou mais nada. Apenas sorriu. Estava muda e feliz!
